How Does a Sunrise Make you Feel?

A recent pre-dawn visit to Lake Tahoe rewarded me with a sunrise photo right at the water’s edge.

Sunrise, Lake Tahoe, from Meek’s Bay

I’m sending out this quick note in hopes that my photo above can give you a feeling of hope during these uncertain times we are living in.

A sunrise, for me, invokes the prospects that can be accomplished in a day.  Despite the “stay-at-home order” more of us are facing each day as a result of the novel Coronavirus (“novel” meaning “a new form of…”), I see possibility in so many things!  Those home projects that have been kept low on the list, I can put them at the top –  that appliance staring at me that needs just a small tweak to be back at normal working mode, that faulty shifter on my road bike that’s causing me grief, reorganizing my photo collection (yikes, no small task!), sending out my first email newsletter (yay, I can check that off the list!).  These are just a few things that I’m happy to work on while I am at home.

Perhaps this photo brings up more internal possibilities?  How can I show up today for my children, wife/significant other?  How can I improve myself to be more available for my family or loved one living with me?  Or, be more available to listen to my own dreams?

There’s many choices, big and small, we can make – from the moment of a sunrise – to change the course of our day.

What does my sunrise photo from Lake Tahoe invoke for you?
